More Than Six Decades of Local Service
Pulakos CPAs was founded by George Pulakos in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1960. From the beginning, George believed that accounting should be personal. He took the time to listen to his clients, understand their businesses and provide guidance shaped around their individual needs.
George was known not only for his technical knowledge and business insight, but also for his commitment to the community he called home. Those values helped establish Pulakos CPAs as a trusted resource for businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals throughout Albuquerque and across New Mexico.
As the firm grew, George welcomed additional staff members and shared ownership with other CPAs who believed in the same approach to client service. One of those professionals was Carl Alongi. Over the years, the firm has been known as George Pulakos, CPA; Pulakos & Alongi, Ltd.; and today, Pulakos CPAs, PC.
While the name has changed, the firm’s connection to New Mexico has remained constant.

Pulakos CPAs has experienced three generational transitions in ownership during its history. Each transition was carefully anticipated and planned, allowing the firm to remain stable while continuing to serve longtime clients and welcome new ones.
That continuity is an important part of who we are. Today, Pulakos CPAs remains headquartered in Albuquerque and serves clients throughout New Mexico. Our team brings together experienced professionals and emerging leaders who share a commitment to thoughtful service, technical knowledge, integrity and genuine collaboration.
Although accounting practices, technology and the needs of New Mexico businesses have continued to evolve, our core approach remains rooted in the principles established by George Pulakos.
