Pulakos & Alongi Funds CPA Online Program for UNM Accounting Students for Second Consecutive Year

ALBUQUERQUE—Pulakos & Alongi, Ltd., certified public accountants and consultants has provided the Accounting Department of the Robert O. Anderson Schools of Management at the University of New Mexico (UNM) with an unrestricted $5,000 donation to fund an online Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam review program for the second consecutive year.

“The program worked well for our students last year.  We’re very grateful that Pulakos & Alongi has chosen to fund it again,” stated Joni Young, chair of the Accounting Department at UNM, adding, “This donation helps us provide excellent support for students who are studying to take their CPA exam.”
“It was an easy decision to make to fund the CPA online exam review program again.  Since we aggressively recruit UNM graduates to work at our firm, we want to help provide them with all available tools to pass their CPA exam as they begin their careers in public accounting,” explained Robert A. Lenberg II, CPA, managing shareholder of Pulakos & Alongi.

UNM’s Accounting Department researched supplemental review materials available to help accounting students prepare for the CPA exam.  Bisk Education’s CPA Ready™ online training program meets the need for a powerful web-based review tool.  The program provides customized exams, unlimited practice questions, case-based simulations, diagnostic exams and automatic grading.  CPA Ready™ allows students to test their knowledge by pinpointing strengths and weaknesses prior to taking the CPA exam.

Access to the online review is primarily designed for college seniors and graduate students who are close to meeting the educational requirements necessary to take the CPA exam. Since April 2004, the CPA examination has been a computer-based exam examination given numerous times throughout the year.  Bisk Education created CPA Ready as a direct result of the new web-based CPA examination.
