Pulakos & Alongi Announces Appointment of Three New Staff Accountants

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — March 18, 2008

ALBUQUERQUE – Pulakos & Alongi, Ltd. (P&A), certified public accountants and consultants, has announced the appointments of Deidre E. Wright, Rodrigo Ballon and Daniel Farley as staff accountants.

The three individuals will be responsible for preparing federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses as well as assisting with client audits, reviews and compilations in their new positions.

Wright has six years experience in accounting.  Prior to joining P&A, she recently served as a tax associate and audit associate for the Albuquerque office of a public accounting firm.  Her previous work experience also includes positions as an accountant specialist for a credit union in Las Cruces and as an audit/budget technician for New Mexico State University (NMSU).

Wright holds a Master of Accountancy degree with a minor in management, and a Bachelor of Accountancy degree, both from New Mexico State University.  While attending college, she served as a member of the New Mexico State University Business Advisory Council and as treasurer and vice president of the NMSU Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, a professional accounting fraternity.  She is currently a member of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Ballon graduated in December 2007 from the Robert O. Anderson Schools of Management at the University of New Mexico with a Master of Business Administration degree in accounting.  He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from UNM.

Ballon, who is fluent in Spanish and English, served as a translator for the “Give the Gift of Sight Foundation” in 2000 and was the recipient of the Modesta Cornerford Academic Scholarship in 2005.  While attending college, he completed three consecutive summer internships as a staff accountant for a Bolivia-based company doing business internationally.  His previous work experience while attending college also included summer positions in customer service in Albuquerque and as a manager for a retail establishment in Española, New Mexico.

Farley also graduated in December 2007 from the Robert O. Anderson Schools of Management at the University of New Mexico with a Master of Accountancy degree and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from UNM.

His prior work experience includes documenting internal financial controls for a not-for-profit organization and starting and operating a construction-related business.  He was also previously a champion bull rider.
